A global AutoStore distributor specializing in optimizing warehouse performance has headquarters in the US and Europe, and a combined team of over 1,000 employees, with expansion plans for over the next couple of years. Facing the imminent retirement of its VP of Customer Success, the company needed to fill this critical role, so our team got in touch with a candidate we felt possessed the necessary criteria.

Solution

Our team approached the organisation with a candidate we believed was highly relevant for the role. As it was our first collaboration with the company, we prioritized understanding their business, culture, and strategic vision, and given the sensitive nature of the role and the client’s previous dissatisfaction with other recruitment firms, we adopted a customized, tailored approach to meet their needs.

After discussions with the company’s board, it became clear they required a senior individual capable of overseeing the customer service desk and the after-sales team. The new VP was expected to expand the team from 35 to 100 members within two years, necessitating expertise in AutoStore technology, managing 24/7 hotline desks, and large team management.

Within two weeks, we presented the company’s board with a shortlist of four highly qualified candidates. All were advanced to the interview stage, with one candidate standing out to the CEO. However, due to the current VP’s delayed retirement, the role was temporarily put on hold, requiring us to maintain candidate interest over several months.

When the hiring process resumed, the client made an initial offer to one of our candidates, which was declined. Through effective communication and negotiation, we secured an improved offer that the candidate accepted, but we were still keen to re-introduce the remaining candidates as we believed all four possessed the criteria relevant for the role. The client revisited the remaining candidates and with our recommendations, selected another individual more suited to the opportunity and company culture. This candidate relocated from North Carolina to Florida with a comprehensive relocation package and an attractive salary. Throughout this process, we managed timelines and candidate expectations, ensuring sustained interest despite the client’s hiring schedule.
