In 2021 our colleague and friend Simone Taylor passed away from triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) at the age of 32. Triple-negative breast cancer is a particularly aggressive and devastating form of the disease, which mostly occurs in women under 50. There are fewer targeted treatments for the disease and more research is desperately needed to develop new drugs and treatments.

Raising money to support cancer charities was a cause very close to Simone’s heart. The Simone Taylor Fund will donate to a variety of cancer charities selected by her family and colleagues. These charities support genetic diagnosis, scientific discovery and research, the development of new treatments or help those currently living with cancer.

In August, we held our annual summer fundraising party and sports day, raising money for The Eve Appeal through our Simone Taylor Fund.

Our teams went head-to-head in various sporting activities, from a tug of war to an egg and spoon race. In the afternoon, our charity team hosted our annual summer fundraising party at Parkside Tavern in Leeds, with a range of fundraising games, a DJ, and a raffle with a range of fantastic prizes kindly gifted to us by a variety of independent bars, restaurants and shops in Leeds.

Thanks to the generosity of our team and everyone who donated, we managed to raise an incredible £1,006 for The Eve Appeal! A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, and to our charity team for hosting a fantastic fundraising day!

Head over to our charity blog page to take a look at all of our past fundraising events over the past few years. Thank you to everyone who has helped us raise fantastic amounts of money for these well-deserving charities.
