We have partnered with a growing company in the industrial sector, seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to develop, implement, and oversee all health and safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial health and safety management, preferably within the HVAC or manufacturing industry, along with expertise in Québec, Canadian, and U.S. safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update health and safety policies in compliance with CNESST, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Implement safety programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety across multiple locations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies tailored to each site.
  • Organize and conduct health and safety training sessions for all staff levels in both Canada and the U.S.
  • Ensure employees are well-informed about safety protocols and emergency procedures specific to their location.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses at various sites.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
  • Stay updated on health and safety legislation in both Québec/Canada and New York/USA.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and represent the company during inspections and audits.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for multiple facilities.
  • Coordinate regular emergency drills to ensure readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, and training.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management on health and safety performance.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and HR departments across different locations.
  • Promote safety best practices throughout the organization.
  • Regular travel between sites is required.

What we are looking for:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) and/or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the industrial sector.
  • Experience in the HVAC or chiller industry is an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage health and safety programs in both Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of Québec occupational health and safety regulations (CNESST) and U.S. OSHA standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
